The purpose of our innovative Leadership Academy is to lead an organization’s next-generation executives beyond managing to leading. It is designed to help participants identify and employ skills and practices that will produce the greatest value, both in tangible results and in leadership that will attract, develop, and create loyalty among staff.
The program consists of a series of day-long monthly sessions over six or twelve months. The sessions combine multiple learning formats and activities—including discussion, reflection, and active learning opportunities—that engage participants across diverse learning styles. Each session includes a panel discussion among seasoned leaders from within and outside the organization, followed by small peer group discussions facilitated by our coaches. Between sessions, participants read or listen to supplemental materials, engage in peer coaching, and apply their new learning to their individual situations and responsibilities. Several times during the year, participants also take on-line assessments and meet for individual coaching and feedback.
Offering an on-site program over an extended period allows participants to immediately apply their learning to their specific situations and to share those experiences and feedback with other members of the group. Over the course of the Academy, participants create a company-specific shared vocabulary and vision of effective leadership, reinforcing their learning and expanding its institutional impact beyond the participants themselves.
