Effective leadership depends as much on who we are and how we engage with others as upon our job-specific competencies and skills. Cheryl Alexander & Associates’ holistic, strengths-based approach to leadership coaching is aimed at deepening self-awareness, mastery, authenticity, and the ability to recognize and encourage the same in others.
Our comprehensive coaching programs are designed to align the professional growth objectives of individuals and teams with the organization’s talent management objectives, culture, and business strategy. We utilize multiple assessments, tools, and approaches to determine and meet the needs of different personality types and learning styles.
The program begins by helping coachees create their own personal GPS system of practices to better manage their energy and attention and to perform at their best. As the program proceeds, they are also given tools that enhance their ability to work across generational and multicultural differences and to engage in meaningful, productive relationships that bring out the best in those they work with. The full program typically includes three hours of coaching a month for twelve to eighteen months.
“Because of you and the work we did together, I was able to create a new business line, be promoted to VP, and move into the executive circle. You told me things I had to hear, were always ‘right on,’ and have never steered me wrong.”
“My team has moved from poor performance to a model team that is the only one in the organization that now exceeds expectations. They are delivering excellent results and new products, and are highly motivated. I am impressed by the depth and breadth of the coaching and progress we have made over the last six months.”
“Through your coaching, I realized I already had the strengths to succeed as a leader, but not the tools and processes. I learned how to manage energy utilizing a high performance pyramid, how to revisit past experiences that prevented me from working effectively with people and analyze them through others’ points of view, therefore being able to develop empathy and let go of judgmental negative obstacles. I learned techniques for working with my team to build more respect, appreciation of differences, and motivation. I learned how to have difficult but essential conversations on a timely basis, changing the way that I am led, and being clear about a style of leadership that I employ that works for me and my teams. I have achieved greater autonomy and the ability to move beyond the detail level into leading for high performance and change. I now define success not only as fulfilling my job responsibilities, but as making a lasting difference in the way work is done, the way people are utilized and rewarded, and through sharing all the tools and knowledge I have gained."
