Cheryl Alexander Stearns


By integrating a number of innovative approaches with extensive practical experience, Cheryl Alexander Stearns offers a leadership development framework and tools that strengthen the ability of individuals and organizations to drive desired changes. Her exclusive programs combine reading, reflection, feedback, peer coaching, and action learning practices to build resilience and agility, create trust, and result in consistently high performance.

Her nearly three decades as an entrepreneur engaged in business development, team leadership, and executive development has given Cheryl keen insight into the organizational and individual dynamics that facilitate failure or support success. She has worked both nationally and internationally, and with non-profit and emerging companies as well as large multinationals. In addition to her work with Cheryl Alexander & Associates, she is a senior consultant with the Center for Character-Based Leadership.

Cheryl has served on several national and international advisory boards, including the U.S. Secretary of Energy’s Advisory Board. She traveled to South Africa as a delegate of the U.S. Trade Mission on Sustainable Energy and Empowerment, and was a delegate and speaker at the Fourth United Nations conference on Women in Beijing and at the World Economic Forum in Madrid. She was a contributing author of The New Entrepreneurs: Visionaries for the 21st Century. Early in her career she was a founding member of numerous professional women’s associations and networks.

Extensive work and travel around the globe and a BA from the University of Minnesota in Chinese with a minor in Russian and additional studies at Nan Yang University in Singapore have contributed to her multicultural and global approach to leadership. She is a recognized pioneer in working with organizations to successfully integrate cultural and gender diversity into their executive ranks and to increase their global effectiveness.
